Why the Sudden Cold and Sweet Sensitivity?

Have you noticed that you have been experiencing sudden cold and sweet sensitivity in your teeth that seems to go away quickly?

Why-the-sudden-cold-sensitivity

What could be happening is that as we age, our gums start to recede and expose root surface on our teeth that is not covered by enamel which leads to sensitivity.  After a while, often your teeth will build up resistance to these irritants so the sensitivity will go away on its own. However, you can use toothpaste that is specially formulated to help with this problem.  Most toothpastes now-a-days have a sensitivity version. You probably have heard about Sensodyne from commercials, but pretty much all other brands also offer sensitivity protection toothpastes.
